Welcome to Beginner Backpacking,

A new series of trips designed to show you Earth’s most untouched locations without the suffering. This isn't your dad’s traditional backpacking trip, nor the army’s rucking bootcamp. The gear has come a long way since then, and we’re fully outfitting you in the best of it.

Moab, Utah

This high desert landscape is a maze of sandstone fins, hidden canyons, and sweeping slickrock plateaus carved by the Colorado River. The terrain shifts from glowing red cliffs to pockets of cottonwood and sagebrush, offering constant contrast and quiet. Early mornings bring cool air and soft light across the canyon walls, while evenings fade into some of the darkest night skies in the country.
