The Adventure: To call this an adventure would be an understatement. The snow capped mountains, and four wheel drive required trails, give you access to a unique experience that is literally above the clouds. Elevations peak at 13K and bottom out at just under 8k, along alpine roads and ghost towns. Campers will explore the San Juan Mountains from Montrose, to Ouray, to Telluride via fire roads and mountain trails. This adventure is perfect for those wanting to experience the Rocky Mountains in all of its glory.

Meet The Guides

  • Lyric M. Flood is a 15 year distinguished educator and leadership development coach with a doctorate in Urban Leadership from Johns Hopkins University. Although he considers himself an adopted Houstonian, Lyric was born in Oakland, California, to an artist mother and jazz musician father. Lyric left the West (best) coast for Atlanta, GA to earn his BA in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University; he remains a proud supporter of CAU, the Atlanta University Center (AUC), and all HBCUs. In 2016, he married his best friend, Aria and they are parents to two of the the ‘swaggyest’ toddlers you’ll ever meet, Hendrix and Morrison. When he isn’t being a squirrel his boys’ world, Lyric carefully splits his time between passion projects, good music and investing his creative energy in a variety of different ways.

    Lyric's professional highlights include:

    • Co-curating and leading over 50 multi-day leadership development and wellness retreats for a variety of organizations, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

    • Accumulating over 100 hours of direct training in leadership skills and group dynamics.

    • Conducting 100+ hours of one-on-one executive coaching, focusing on personal wellness and leadership development.

    • Receiving consistent feedback scores averaging 4.8 out of 5 for effectiveness, engagement, and transformative impact.

    • Certification as a Certified Emotional Intelligence Coach (EQi-2.0, 2015).

  • Jeremy D. Williams, a 13 year esteemed educator and leadership development coach of holding a doctorate in Mind Brain and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University. His post secondary journey began at Howard University where he earned Bachelor of Science degree in Human Performance and continued a Master’s of Arts degree in Public School Building Leadership from Columbia University Teachers’ College. As a first generation college student and Mississippi native he leads through the core values of Love, Liberation, and Learning, Jeremy has gained professional experience related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, career consultation, and life coaching. Jeremy enjoys making memories with his wife, Chelsey, his son, Ajani, his daughter Loren and a strong network of friends and family in the greater Houston, TX area. In his free time, he enjoys live music (Yes, Tiny desks counts as Live music too), reading (anything by Kiese Laymon), and television shows (Marvel’s Echo is pretty epic).

  • Day 1:

    • CY welcome followed by climbing experience at Ouray’s Via Ferrata.

    • Client enjoy campsite gourmet lunch and check into their tents, receive sleep kits followed by camp walk around.

    • Happy hour followed by sunset dinner

    • Camp fire sessions lead by Vanguard Voices.

    Day 2:

    • Wellness morning led by Camp Yoshi.

    • Breakfast

    • Morning hike

    • All vehicles, excursions, transportation

    • All camp gear, beach towel & sleep kits

    • All local guides, chef, bartender

    • Download link to professional photos shot on your trip

    • All meals (B, L, D), beverages and artisanal cocktails

    • Sleeping Stuff: All sleep kit items are included (bag, pad, pillow, blanket, and more) - you just show up.

  • Cancellation fees will be applied per camper according to the following schedule, based on the date we receive your written email notification:

    Cancellations initiated by the participant received via email to Camp Yoshi with more than 90 days notice before the adventure start date will receive their deposit and subsequent payments as a credit to be used towards future adventures with Camp Yoshi. The credit expires 1 year after being issued.

    Cancellations initiated by the camper received via email to Camp Yoshi less than 90 days before the adventure start date will forfeit all monies (deposit and any subsequent payments.

    No refunds will be provided for any reason for an unused portion of an adventure once the adventure begins, including if you leave an adventure for any reason or have to be removed from an adventure. The adventure price is a package cost and refunds and credits are not available for services not used.

    There are no exceptions to this cancellation and refund policy, including for reasons related to weather, terrorism, civil strife, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other circumstances beyond our control. For this and other reasons, we encourage you to purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance and travel protection (i.e., travel medical insurance and emergency evacuation services).

    Camp Yoshi is not responsible for expenses incurred by Participants in preparing for a trip (eg. nonrefundable advance purchase air tickets, equipment, etc.) or for any additional arrangements pre- or post-departure date. The term applies whether the adventure is altered, modified, or cancelled by us or by you for any reason. Because the tour may be cancelled when a minimum number of Participants have not signed up, we recommend that you either purchase refundable air tickets or wait until we have confirmed with you approximately 90 days prior to the tour that we have a sufficient number of Participants.
